Worn Epaulettes
If you ask the Chieftain Captain ("The Pad"), I think you will find he will say that the worn eapulettes are due to the Tennant Creek heat - flying, loading and unloading Metros!

Because in the event of a crash, they know who's ass to kick.

We had to wear them while instructing to deferentiate us from the students. I made sure my pair were hand-me-downs and not brand-spankers. (To prevent me looking like something that rhymed with that...

Was just going through the 2007 photo collection prior to the festive season "show and tell" for relatives, and found a couple of good ones.
Early morning, RAAF Base Tindal, Katherine NT:

Strange geological formation to the north-east of Olympic Dam, SA:

Isurava Memorial on the Kokoda Track, PNG:

And, in keeping with the "where was this photo taken" theme (not much to go on, I know!):

And another "where is it", which I am sure that a certain pruner might know quite well! Chuck?

Merry Christmas everyone!

Nunc est bibendum

Nothing worse than fresh new bars, makes you look inexperienced.

Of course it's hard to deny that you've had some previous experience as an F/O on the B744. I don't know what I'm going to do if I ever check out as a Captain. It's hard to have 'plausible deniability' then that I'm anything but an old codger!

YHBA, looks a little different over the cowl than the usual head out the side eating bugs!!!
Was just a little further down final when i cleaned up a bat one evening.
From where you are you'll wanna put some power on and land about halfway down or it's a 5 min taxi to vacate!!!
