1239** ARNs were issued in May 1973

They were known as an "Addressee Referance No."
back then and your licence had a different number.

=====================================================

The ideal camera for those aviation pics, keep it simple, get a good quality point and shoot camera as demonstrated by some of the members posts on this thread. I still use an old Canon A40 as my tool box camera.

DSLR’s are great I have an Olympus E300, but to get the best out of them
you need to know a bit about photography and they are also a bit big and heavy to carry round unless this is your thing.

This one was taken with a Motorola V3 camera phone. Pilot's parking only at Amsterdam airport. [don't you just love the moustache]

How do you take all your photos?

Easy!
1) Drop aeroplane
2) Pick up camera
3) Aim camera
4) Push magic picture-taking button
5) Drop camera
6) Pick up aeroplane
7) Recover from unusual attitude.

Woah this thread has gone nuts since the last time I checked! It's been great to see so many replies. I've gone an hit up the credit card for a new little beasty, got a Cannon IXUS, and it's in Brisbane as we speak (from adeliade, love AaE consignemnt tracking)

Hope to start lobbing up a few photies once i get it out of the box!

You might want to use Flickr.com as a platform for displaying pix. Cut down on Danny's bandwidth and it's really easy to use - upload the image and then just post the link to here.

Heres a few from my time in the Top End. Also, for those wanting to have a little fun with editting photos try some free downloads:

Picasa (A free google program which is quick and easy to use but can be frustrating with its options for saving the editted pictures)
http://picasa.google.com/

Autostitch (Again free and simple to use. This program takes multiple photos that you have and 'stitches' them together magically. Photos such as 123567's office would most likely have been done this way.)
www.autostitch.net

To put my 2 cents in, i use a digital sony handycam (DCR-HC30E) and make video's of my flying on the PC. Its small and easy to use, and any one of the 25 frames per second can be taken as a still shot...admittedly in not as good a quality as a still camera.
