From this morning's Dominion Post newspaper:

Dubai-based airline Emirates is eyeing gaps left by Air New Zealand in Asia and promises growth for future services. But it is downplaying rumours that it is to jump into a Christchurch-to-Los Angeles route left vacant by Air New Zealand. Emirates had recorded growth in revenue, freight and passengers from its 28 services or 56 flights in and out of New Zealand.
