A380 Visit to Sydney ...when?

Does anyone know when the A380 is due in Sydney (or anywhere in Australia for that matter) - is there a schedule out and about yet - with exact times/dates?

Supposedly Mid November - to coincide with QFs 85th.

(Just saw another thread on this - but it too contains no dates or times. Does anyone have the latest info yet? )

Is YSSY wide enough? I guess so if it's already booked in a landing.

Does it need to be 60m?

Snippet from Qantas Media:-

A380 to Visit Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne Latest News
Sydney, 28 October 2005
Qantas announced today that the world's largest passenger aircraft - the Airbus A380 - would visit Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne between 11 and 16 November. The visit will coincide Qantas' 85th anniversary celebrations.

The Chief Executive Officer of Qantas, Mr Geoff Dixon, said the arrival of the aircraft and its planned itinerary while in Australia had generated a great deal of public interest.

"We have worked closely with Airbus to make this visit a reality. This is the first time the A380 has left Europe," Mr Dixon said.

As well as helping Qantas mark its 85th anniversary, the aircraft will continue its flight test program in Australia and undertake airport compatibility assessments in each port.

The A380's current Australian schedule is:
* Friday 11 November
Arrive Brisbane late evening
* Saturday 12 November
Brisbane
* Sunday 13 November
Depart Brisbane for Sydney early morning
* Monday14 November
Depart Sydney for Melbourne early morning
* Tuesday 15 November
Depart Melbourne for Brisbane early morning
* Wednesday 16 November
Depart Brisbane and Australia early morning

Details of arrival and departure times will be announced next month.

Do you think that they would allow GA in the area near the A380. Not right next to it but around so that we can watch it from the north and follow it to the airport.

Just wondering

Rumour file:- appears a certain board member will be on board for it's arrival into Aus!
Interesting since it's registered as an experimental aircraft or has that changed? Anything for a publicity stunt!

The old rule is never buy the A model of anything...

And furthermore, if it flies, floats or fu*ks...rent it (much less trouble)

Any more info on actual arrival and departure times, particularly at BNE ?

I suggest If you want to see the A380 In Sydney the best place to see it will be on North and South heads.

Just look for a Dugong

This mornings BN arrival was "Airbus Industrie 102" so I'm guessing BN-SY tomorrow will be Airbus Industrie 103. Pilots sounded like nice blokes this morning on the way in
