Although cause for some debate over the last year or two, no, DJ does not base any tech crew in SYD. There are however a handful of flight attendants and tech crew that commute from SYD to both BNE and MEL.

Have heard rumours that a SYD base, along with PER and ADL, are in the process of being looked at for both cabin crew and tech crew.

One would think that with 100+ crew rooms per night in SYD it would be an obvious choice. The hardest part will be actually getting enough crew to move to SYD to make the base viable.
