Anyone know if Graham Brett is still in Cairns? Would like to test his memory on a log book entry from 20 years ago when he was C&T for Skywest

Angel Vale Brian McCook

Bit late coming across this - about Brian. He was my mate and mentor in PNG in the early 70s and then for several years he and Betty were my next-door neighbors and beloved friends, they in 18, I in number 20 Hyde Park Gate at Seletar Air Base, in Singapore. Where Brian flew a PT-registered Goose for Conoco Indonesia. What a delightful, Good, man. Rest well Captain McCook! BA:.

Zed-Air I think you will find it was an Albatross - a bit bigger than the Goose

Kavieng - '71or '72
Think the 336 had been bought/leased by the local mission to replace their one.

skywagondriver:

Wasn't that the Airfast Aztec based at Rabaul?

I also spent many occasions in the Kavieng FSU building (the building in the background) whilst working for DCA in Rabaul in the early '70s

After Crowley's was bought by Airfast the fleet was promptly painted in the new yellow scheme. The one based in Rabaul [UNK] continued as a separate entity.
Crowley based an Aztec in Kavieng for a run down to Namatani then Rabaul on a daily basis plus any charter work.Pilots did a two week stint from Lae.

In 1962 I was taken by Ron Firns from Terapo to Kaipuri to pick up some Kukakuka to take them to prison farm. Kaipuri was an extreme strip with only Ron cleared to use it. Does anyone have knowledge of it.
