There is quite a collection of once great airframes accumulating in that area (NWA, SDA)
All have had political connections and left to rot.

It is probably Basler BT-67 C-GGSU (c/n 13439) which is normally based in Ottawa. It was sighted in the UK and Jakarta in Jan this year and said to be heading for survey work in PNG.
Done some plane spotting last week around the GA apron at Jacksons - sad state of affairs, it looks more like a grave yard. No sign of P2-COC.
I'm sure the King Air is ex P2-KSA which is a fairly late model B200, the aircraft was once kept in immaculate condition back when it was with Regional Air in the early 2000s. The 185 is ex P2-MFX. All the aircraft photographed certainly are not airworthy......

Yes P2-NWA was previously KSA and is S/N BB-1527.
A fire extinguisher discharged in the cabin a couple of years ago and they had trouble getting the cabin door open as the door seals had glued themselves to the door frame due to sitting in the heat. The aircraft also sat without the propellers being tethered for some months which allowed the props to windmill in any sort of breeze.
Not much value in the aircraft now.

I haven't heard from Tinpis for a long time. I tried to call his Darwin number a few times, but no answer.
His phone number is listed in the Darwin telephone on line directory.
Interestingly, his last post was 1 January 2016, however his last logged in PPRuNe visit was 28 February 2018. I suspect his profile email address may not work, so no use sending a PPRuNe PM or email..

Is P2-CAA the B200 that belonged to The legendary Moresby Gliding Club? I think it was originally P2-PNG when bought to replace the original Cessna 421, if so it must be over 35 years old?
This trick will have no impact
If I fill her up with fuel
I’ll take enough for Top of Climb
And glide in from Mount Yule”

It then became P2-PNG, then P2-PNH (both ex-Macair Porter rego's) and finally P2-CAA.

I think VH-PNG became P2-SEZ with Talair.
It was P2-PNO after PNG and became SEA with Talair. It was easy to change the "G" to an "O"

Question was as to the aircraft or the pilots.....
Wasn't unheard of during my time up there in and around Jacksons general aviation area...
Never used to be, unless they have changed their policy.
Rules allow it to be done if it is multi crew and the other pilot is under a certain age, can’t remember what age though. Obviously you still need to be able to pass a class 1 medical.
PX once had the 65 rule and you were out, however I believe they quashed it as a result of crew shortages.

Heard from POM that Speedy (John Orton) from PX Engineering finishes up tomorrow (10 Aug)
Speedy has been there since before Independence. Has not been well for some time and is finally fit enough to fly out to Manila tomorrow and retirement.

Entitlements ?
So that would make Speedy the longest serving expat they've had ? (pretty sure it would !).
The next question.... Will he ever see the entitlements he is owed (?!). With over 40 years up he'd have to be owed a lot....
