Air Niugini management should be sacked!
The continuous problems facing Air Niugini, the latest being the stranding incident at Sydney involving some 200 Catholic youths, is an embarrassment to this nation.
Pilot shortages, workers strike and daily domestic and international flight disruptions are becoming common problems for the carrier. Even the ground customer service of the airline compared to others like Airlines PNG and Qantas is poor.
There is no courtesy of a smile or hello to their number one assets who are their customers. Most often you find one ticketing officer attending to 10 or 15 people while other customer desks are left unattended with only the computers left idle. The majority of the public is tired of buying into the excuses that the airline is performing financially well. I think it’s time the Government and Minister responsible should sack the current board and management in view of all these continuous problems because it is a shame when customers are always being denied quality services.
If the management and board cannot effectively miniminise these problems it is only proper that they be replaced.

Tinpis should know, Fearless hopefully, not too sure about Max. I think that she was with Ansett -MAL in the early days, then Ansett -APNG up until 1973 when most cabin crew returned to Oz. Would DR ring a bell. Guessing she would have to be around 65 by now.
The other person in the photo. The great ferarless feeney, the wag of waikato was married last year!

In regard to PX, I recon the first thing to do would be to privatise the airline. Air Niugini is being ran like a typical PNG government department, ie: there doesn't appear to be any management, and the people who are trying to make the airline operate are being held back from above, and below in some cases.
Anyone know when CAA's ICAO audit is ? Rumour is that someone is going to pull a rabbit out of a hat, and spill a few beans to the media a week or two before the ICAO audit. Could be interesting !

Last year was a record year for Air Niugini; experiencing a record passenger growth with the total number uplifted hovering close to the 1 million mark.
A new fleet and more aircraft normally means growing pains I woudn't be so free with the sack'em all comments.
PNG CAA should take a bow and claim responsibility for much of the problem, infrastructure is lacking for a modern airline to grow.

Sheesh..........POM is looking almost civilised these days. What's goin on?
Am I to assume this was a one-off QF flight, as I thought they avoided the "land of the unexpected" these days?

Don't get me started on the flights babe!!!
No, not a QF flight...code share I think, can't remember -was the LAST flight White Air operated for ANG -thank @#%!
But we eventually landed after a complete run down on the Portuguese Football Team and all things Portuguese actually; yes, we basically got a run-down on the Aircraft's journey whilst it had been on wet lease to ANG! One bloody bored Captain
Came back on the Sky Airworld Embraer I think. Aircraft ok, **** fight getting out of the country though due to Load Control; well, the non-existance of it!
Actually, geting into the country was a shambles...the flight that departed BN after ours, arrived and we were still trying to clear immigration - yep, a 3 hour flight became a 6 hour friggin nightmare!!!
Then, we get out the front of the terminal; Stu informs me that the Anz Branch had been robbed that morning and the 'attempt' to block the road was priceless...priceless.
Welcome to Port Morbid lol
Was most impressed at the system by which they use to fill in the pot holes - hahahahahaha!!
Square Pot holes!
Love the beer
Will return again in a few weeks.

So Tinny it's been a while, forgive my ignorance, but where are you these days?
Can I expect to finally chillax over a beer or 10 with you when I next make a trip to Paradise Never Gained?
Plan on getting out a bit more next time too.
For some reason Stu wouldn't let me......
