TwoDogs. I too found that web site a few years ago and tried to contact Keith Buxton by email - I've known Keith ("Jungle Jim") for close to 40 years.

I never received a reply to my email and I heard maybe a year ago that Keith died. I think that is an "old" web site. You could try to send Keith an email but I would be very surprised if you get a reply.

Keith Buxton died about 4-5 years ago, but I believe his daughter has a few books left. No, I haven't got her contact except that she lives on the Gold Coast.
Keith even gave his own eulogy... most of it in Pidgin!!!

Tin,
Just as I remember it, spent a nite there sleeping in a balus, the offer of chargrilled echidna and some cardboard to sleep on inside a grass hut was tempting, but I graciously declined. The mean at the kopi factory wouldn't even give me a bed cos we were in competition.

Was rather a good game in an Islander or Twotter to see if appropriate application of said aircraft in close proximity to aforementioned skeletons could shake them off the ledge...never managed it but.

Took some plastic surgeons to the skeletons in the caves at Chimbu or was that Chuave. They were surprised at the good condition they were in. Cost two kina each for the visit!

Two Dogs and Torres.

Try [email protected]

That is the last emaqil address I had for her.

Keith did pass away after a big fight with the big C.

When I get home and look at some rcods, I'll see what I can come up with in addition.

Cheers,

Keith Buxton

Last contact I have for Keith's daughter Michelle was,

Box 451, Main Beach,
Queensland, 4217.

Michelle did say that she still sold Keith's book. I think worth the stamps and does bring back a few fond memories of the 'golden years'

Keith passed away 28 September 2003, so you can have a few coldies in a few day's time.

Cheers.

What? The corruption or the jailing of MP's? Seven thousands bucks would be pocket change to some of MP's in paradise

100 Million!

That would be morning tea money to some.

I had from an impeccable source a few years ago that a very well known pollie was well on his way to becoming the country's first billionaire! (though I later heard that Oz medical bills took a big slice of the goodies)

Strewth a DC 8 ?

Another overseas airline (Airefata) is about to offer international flights to and from PNG. Airefata hopes to be able to offer a Jayapura to Port Moresby service. Depending on demand, Airefata is expected to use its newly acquired 145-seat DC8 jetliner to service the Port Moresby-Jayapura route taking an estimated hour and a half. This service was previously operated via Vanimo by Air Niugini but was considered unprofitable and cancelled many years ago. -- Jayapura is the provincial capital of Indonesia's Papua province.
