N.Z. Bash - Hanmer Springs - 21st November.
It's seems such as shame to do this to quiet, tranquil little Hanmer Springs but here goes anyway.
Sorry about the short notice, but after a chat with the owner of the (grass) airfield here, and one of the co-owners of Hanmer Air, a decision has been made to hold an inaugral PPRuNe HANMER SPRINGS Bash.
The venue is Robbies Bar & Bistro located on the right hand side, almost opposite the thermal pools, as you drive into town.
The time is 1300 onwards.
And the date is SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21st.
Hanmer is 130 kms north of Christchurch (about a 20 minute drive ...add an hour or so), or you can fly in, and leave $10 in the honour box at the airfield for Roger.
Pics will be posted!!!

A B737-400 has been organised to make a low level appearance at Hanmer, around 3pm...should be interesting
How about some of you lads at Nelson get yourselves orgy-nised and make the trip over.
There's plenty of accomodation - motel and holiday homes - available, if you want to stay the night, otherwise it's a 3 hour drive, or a 40 minute fright across.

As promised, here's (some) of the photographic evidence of the PPRuNe HANMER SPRINGS inaugural Bash .......police are holding the rest!!
Hanmer Air were good enough to allow their Chief Pilot (aka Hanmer Air here in the hallowed halls of PPRuNe) some time to attend, and to then generously allow some of us time on one of their aircraft.
Robinhood made the trip up from Christchurch, after arriving from Australia, during his quest to find an employer in need of a well-experienced, capable aviator (multi-engine, command I.R., >approx 1700 hrs TT).
Four D also made it, having been involved in some "irrigation" work nearby, earlier on.
The weather was extremely kind to us on the day, but my eyes and nose didn't appreciate the freshly baled hay.
The (privately owned) strip at Hanmer Springs is well maintained, and with the way Hanmer is booming, it will probably be only a matter of time before we see Hanmer Air attracting more patrons!
Get yourselves over there one of these days - it's a magic place

Congratulations to Robinhood - after trekking thousands of kilometres, and knocking on lots of doors, he has finally cracked a good job with a reputable employer back in Oz.
Well done!
