Quote: A Delta Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration N321NB performing flight DL-2836 from New York JFK,NY to Denver,CO (USA), was climbing out of JFK's runway 31L about to be handed off to departure, when the crew reported they needed to return, they had just taken a bird into the #1 engine (CFM56) and wanted to turn left to land on runway 04L, they had "pretty good" vibrations. The crew shut the left engine down, went through the extended center line of runway 04L and requested runway 31L, which was approved. The aircraft landed safely on runway 31L about 13 minutes after departure.”
