Just curious..
Perhaps "legally" there is adequate separation so this question is irrelevant. But what could happen in the situation of a micro-burst or adverse weather? Would it not increase the chances of parallel landing aircraft becoming dangerously close? Also the case of runway excursion after landing etc.. |
That is at SFO and they only land like that when it is VFR, when the visibility is reduced they separate them and land alternately.
I was once landing in a Cessna twin on 28R with a 747 alongside on 28L, that was a sight !!! f |
Synchronized landing -- should be an Olympic sport.

There are a host of factors to be considered, and criteria to be met when Simultaneous Parallel Approaches are conducted.
