? about layover

Before I ask, mods pls feel free to delete/move etc if this is not appropriate type of for this forum.

Anyway my ? is do I have enough time to hop my intl flight at IAD?

I have a tad over 60m layover there before hopping on UA803 to NRT.

I've never been to IAD.. hows the line there with the TSA, customs, baggage etc? are the gates for domestic and intl fairly close or are we talking diff terminals etc?

Any UA flyboys or frequent passengers here? lol

Appreaciate detail lowdown to maximize effort and minimize stress.

Thanks!

Domestic to international your bags will be checked straight through from your initial departure point, however in my personal opinion I think 60 minutes is way to short and wouldn't go with anything less than 2 hours in the U.S.

The other factor to think about is follow on flights should you miss the IAD-NRT flight is there another flight that day or if delayed and you missed that flight would they have to put you on a flight the next day?

Thanks flyer.. yes those were my concerns as well and that's why I bring it up here in the hopes that there are pilots or people who are very familair with IAD and that flight that can shed some light.

I would agree just over 60 minutes is a tad tight. I would do not less than 2 hours, if at all possible.
