Plane goes off runway at Buffalo Niagara International Airport - Story

this is an interesting one. especially that one passenger reports circling at least 3 times.

simply put, the winds were favoring runway 23 I think, though I don't have them handy to post, someone else showed them somewhere else.

one comment indicated the pilot blamed windshear.

if i am not mistaken , this type of plane does not have leading edge devices.

I hope we get a report out of this one.

That plane does have leading edge devices. The 50 seat CRJ does not.

I landed in Buffalo that night about an hour and a half prior to that accident. I can't figure out why they landed 32 with the winds favoring 23. They would have had a tail wind, slight component, for 32 based on the reported winds.

There was a line of weather west of BUF when we landed, that may have been a factor.
