Drones!

Drug-laden drone crashes near US-Mexico border - Houston Chronicle
In this image released by the Tijuana Municipal Police on Wednesday Jan. 21, 2015, a drone loaded with packages containing methamphetamine lies on the ground after it crashed into a supermarket parking lot in the city of Tijuana on Tuesday Jan. 20, 2015.

Yeah I just read an article today about this, at the end of the story an ICE spokesman stated that 'drones are easy to track'.

Really, how they do I would really like to know. I mean they don’t show up on radar all that well, if at all.

But on the other hand, drones can't carry a lot.

Con,
Just waiting for the inevitable day when a DHS Predator takes out a kid with his R/C transmitter who happens to be near the border.

Are Drones ever going to be legalised in america? If so, when?

MarkerInbound 9th Feb 2015 06:35

Drones are legal in the US now. Below 400 AGL, less than 55 pounds and not for commercial purposes. And the FAA has granted 24 authorizations for commercial ops, mainly TV and film companies and survey work. Plus what we call "public use" over here, which means the government, which isn't very public. Hey, I own 1/320,000,000 of it, I want to go fly it!
