Looking for a recommendation on Ferry Pilot(s)
 

I hope this is the right thread to post this, I am looking to buy an Archer 3, Glass Cockpit, from a dealer in NC and have it flown to Europe, would anyone have any details concerning REPUTABLE and RELIABLE Ferry Pilots?

I think the best thing, rather than starting an open slagging war, is that anybody with recommendations - or warnings! - send me the info per PM.

A number of years ago I helped deliver a few corporate jets to Europe. There were quite a few prop deliver guys along the northern route. I would suggest you contact the companies that deal with the tax paperwork for the aircraft to enter Europe (they also handle all of our customs paperwork). We flew into Bergen, Norway for tax purpose (tax is cheaper) sorry but I cant remember the company we dealt with but I am sure if you contact the local fbo they might be able to give you their number to get advise from them on a good ferry pilot. The other country we flew into was Scottland on another delivery jet trip (cant remember the airport just remember we were the only plane, large airport with no traffic another airport for tax reasons).

You could also contact the Fbo's at airports like Goose Bay, Canada, Frobisher Bay, Canada, Sonderstrom Greenland, as they might be able to suggest a few of the good ferry pilots. I know we met a Germany Ferry pilot in Greenland who has done a tremendous amount of prop delivers to Europe, seemed very professional, very knowledge about the conditions etc.

Make sure you get insurance coverage and even check with the company to confirm the crossing is covered as the loss of pilot/aircraft on those crossing is quite high.

Unfortunately, there are NO suitable Archer 3s mit Glass cockpit available at this moment in time in Europe at a reasonable price hence I am buying one out of the US and exporting it to Europe.....

Indeed, a quick search shows one machine with glass cockpit in Europe which has been on offer for close to two years however this this ad is a fake. How do I know? The owner lives in a university, claims the airport where it is stationed is a few kilometres from a major international airport where in reality a review of ICAO codes shows this airfield is actually 300 miles away AND the owner is demanding a $10k payment before you can even SEE the plane... I know, I offered to fly in and view it, hand over the deposit once I had reviewed the plane. Oh, and the plane is actually registered to a flying school two hundred miles to the north.....

Do you have a problem with me buying an Archer from the US?

You might also want to check the pricing on taking the wings off then shipping the whole plane over. It's quick/easy to take the wings off/tail. For the cessna 150 it's only one or two large screw/bolt on each wing section & some cable removal, im guessing the piper is similar.

I have been involved with two ferry operators. The second one not so good but I wonder if the first one which was Margrit Waltz is still delivering aircraft. She was in Wilkes-Barre and had a lot of experience. I was lucky enough to be able to deliver a TB21 Trinidad to France for her and come back across on a TBM 700 straight from the factory.
