7700: A John Berger Story
Good evening,
I'm an aspiring author, and I have published 2 books already. I am working on a new series, which happens to be an aviation disaster based, and I'm looking for pilots to assist me in some research. I was wondering if any of you had time in more than just Biz jets, to something more like Airbus (ranging from 318-321) or MD/Boeing aircraft with modern flight decks? Essentially, I'm trying to create a realistic in-flight emergency where either something structural compromising event occurs, or a catastrophic engine failure which a chain reaction causes a semi-survivable crash. I was thinking of something more along the lines of between United 232, or ASA 529 and Aloha 243. The story starts out where the captain needs to preform a V1 cut, due to an engine misreading of some sort, and after maintenance was preformed, took off for a second time, then something more catastrophic happens in-flight. I'm working on plot right now, and working on research. So, any help would be great, and appreciated. |
How about a wheel well fire due to insufficient brake cooling after the V1 cut?

How about, maintenance leaves the cowl flap doors unlatched and aren't picked up during the walkaround so they tear off just after take-off and damage the horizontal stabiliser....
