TC CPL to FAA CPL
Hello,
I am in process of converting my Transpost Canada CPL to FAA CPL. I have faxed my complete application a month back to FAA head office for verification of my Canadian license. According to online information given on the FAA website it can take 90 days for the verification process to be completed, so in view of that I have 60 more days to prepare for the written exam that needs to be taken to successfully convert my license. I am wondering is there any online course which I can go through to prepare for the Air-Regulation test. My friend who did his training from US advised me to read Gleim for the preperation. It would be really great if some one can advice me regarding the online courses. Thanks |
Conversion
I just purchased the Commercial Gleim book and studied Air Regs and passed with a decent score.

Conversion Question
Hey guys, was the conversion a paperwork exercise or did it involve a flight test?
I have been trying to research and keep finding differing stories. Cheers |
The FAA and Transport Canada have an agreement to convert the same level license. The FAA will only issue the 61.75 (based on) certificate at the private level for everyone else. There is no checkride involved. Look up FAA AC 61-135 for more info.

I have just read FAA AC 61-135 and is it my understanding that you don't need a check ride for Canada CPL to FAA Commercial?

No checkride.
http://www.faa.gov/training_testing/...-g-8082-2a.pdf I'm certain the various test gouge providers (Sheppard, etc.) have specific prep courses. |
Thanks Rotorhead!
Im looking at coming over from NZ to sit written so need to make sure. |
