FlightSafety Academy and conversion

Hello There!

I am about to start to study at FlightSafety Academy,Vero Beach, FL.

Since I am not 20 yet I will need to wait to be 23 to get the ATP,and this means 1 or more years of waiting 'cause I shoud finish with the commercial when I'll be 21.

In this time I'd like to convert the faa licences to the easa ones, because I am from Italy, Do you guys know if it is possible in USA?

Have somebody ever studied there in FSA? How is it?

To get the FAA ATP, you also need to have 1500 hours of Total Time, 500 hours of cross country, plus many other requirements in addition to being 23 years old.

You can convert to an EASA license in the US, but I would strongly recommend you do it in Europe.

Not all places in the USA are bad for EASA training

Why go to Flight Safety if you want an EASA licence? You will not save a penny and probably end up spending a lot more due to the differences.

Have a look at European Flight Training just down the road from Flight Safety. They can offer both licences in the same trip, and for a lot less.

be careful with any of these flying schools. make sure you can always get out if you are not satisfied with the instruction or maintenance of the airplanes.

it is expensive, and may not be to your liking...can you check out some universities that offer aviation degrees...you might like them better like PURDUE or University of Illinois.

safe flying and goodluck

I am at EFT now just down the road from Vero and personally it's brilliant for conversions, EASA to FAA and vice versa!

I can't comment much on FlightSafety as I have never been but I can speak for EFT so if you have any questions please message me.

Just visit the website thats listed a few post's above and that will give you all the info you need!

100s of Chinese sponsored airline students have recently arrived, and 100s more in the pipeline, since FSA is only one of a few approved schools for Chinese licences. Warren Buffet knows how to print money.

Things are getting very slow now for students there. PPL at least 6 months.

The school is expensive too. The marketing department have a quick response and hook in new students quicker than other schools.

Maintenance is ok. Old aircraft on the most part but maybe newer ones for the EASA program?

Instructors are a mixed bunch, mostly interested in building their own hours as the first priority.

I think you will regret Flight Safety Academy.
