The thing guys back home don't realise when they hear rumours of E3s at this place or that, is that you have to be here and hustle face to face to make these things happen. Sending an email and hoping for a job is about as effective as it was hunting that first job in the top end.

So for those of you that have emailed "xx hr" and got a "we're not interested", they are absolutely trialing E3 programs. The programs at each respective carrier may just not be ready to launch publicly. Those that are trialing programs though, those programs have been built by Aussies building relationships and trust face to face, and are very protective of what they've built.

And as a last point, stop with the HR name calling. Of the programs that are a level above the regionals, HR has played a crucial role in getting Aussies in the door to plead their case as to why have an E3 program at all.

The US declaration of independence says you have the freedom to pursue life, liberty and happiness. Come over and pursue yours, but make no mistake, no one will hand it to you on a platter if you sit in Aus.

Simple LCA search is your friend.

So far, 1 guy is at Frontier, this has to be the trial case.

2 guys at National.

1 guy at Spirit but doesn't seem to have been renewed.

1 guy at Atlas and Atlas hasn't taken any E-3s since 2019.

It seems no Aussies at PDT flowed to AA with E-3.

It is an exaggeration to claim that Aussies are going everywhere now.

For the time being, for the majority of Aussies, US is only good for regional jet and pic time.

I wouldn’t read to much into the ones that haven’t been renewed, they probably won the green card lottery or now have a US spouse and resulting green card.

And what’s wrong with ‘just’ regional jet and pic time?

Agreed. Leaving the technicalities of whether it’s actually possible to one side, It’ll be a massive shift for any E-3 to be part of any flow-through to a legacy carrier, from a regional partner. Personally, I don’t think it’ll ever happen. UAL, DAL and AA all have about 12000 CV’s on file and around half of those are apparently qualified. At least as far as UAL is concerned and finding the justification for E3’s would be problematic.

Just to play devil's advocate, UAL et al wouldn't need justification as such, just an LCA saying they'll be paying the same as an American. Skill shortage vs being a skilled worker visa and all.

Whether or not it'll ever actually come to that, who knows? People as early as a few weeks ago said the LCC market would never allow E3s, and yet here we are.

Kenny,

The airlines have been reluctant to release that data so we're left with anecdotal info. I don't doubt anyone's numbers since I have nothing to support or refute them.

I do strongly suspect everyone has applied to every carrier which reduces the total number of job-hunting individuals by a factor of the number of airlines( I think I said that right).

As we know, qualified per posted requirements is very different from competitive. I was at an event for retired airline pilots several years ago where the inventor/owner/operator of airlineapps.com spoke about how his brainchild works. The airlines using that service get to set parameters on their receiving end so those not meeting minimum requirements will not have their application seen. This keeps the fresh CPL from clogging up the works by applying. So, no one among us Little People will ever know who got seen by eyes who can send out an interview invitation.

The legacies and LCCs will NEVER be short of hireable applicants...and I mean NEVER. I suspect the regionals are pretty similar; butts will find seats and airplanes will be flown...even when some carriers go under.

You'd think it might be that easy but not a hope of it. The reason…ALPA. The noise that would come from the rank and file, over hiring foreigners that don’t have PRC’s would be deafening and far too loud to ignore. It’ll never happen. UAL will hire 300 hour wonders and put them through their flight school before they’ll ever do that. The precedent is already there.

No EB-2 visas are being used. That was a fake aviation news post. That went viral.
sorry…
so far the following airlines are using the E-3 (australian nationals only) program:
Atlas Air
National Airlines
Amerijet
PSA Airlines
Commutair

There are possibly more. But these are doing it for sure. National Airlines just hired 50 australian nationals and Atlas so far hired 6 ( this is not confirmed and only a rumour)
my sources come from HR departments and people that are involved in hiring at some of these airlines. As well as company websites

Only 2 LCAs filed for E3 at National, not 50.

Amerijet doesn't do E3.

Frontier only 1 trial case.

Devil

No EB2 - NIW VISA will ever be issued by the US Gov. for Pilots since being a Pilot its not really a "relevant job " for the USCIS, but there are a lot speculations from some Lawyers firm affirming that , if you spend some money (a lot .....) , you may have some chanches..

.Forget it...at least by now..

.Apply for a Green Card lottery , you may have more chances.....
