Sedona Air Tours

Well, well, well...another FAR 135 operator that everyone needs to absolutely stay away from. The scam is as follows: the "owner/DO" will offer a salary and great benefits. This to fly the company ancient (pre-WWI) Navajo (which, as of this writing, hasn't flown in over two years) and C206/C207. The 207 has nearly 16,000 hours on the airframe and belongs in a boneyard.

At any rate, after a very short time, the "salary" option is removed and you will be put on a "day rate" which is solely dependent on the number of flights you fly in any given payroll period. Aircraft is down for maintenance? No pay. Flight cancels due to weather? No pay. Passengers cancel? No pay. Boss had a bad night? No pay. They do not pay per diem, or any other expenses.

The medical coverage is a joke, think $10,000 deductible and 401k program vesting doesn't happen for 5 years.

The owner/DO lost his medical due a few too many indulgences with the fruit of the vine and getting caught driving afterwards. Why the FAA still allows him to remain in that position is unknown. The Chief Pilot is a helicopter guy and is NEVER around...after a year, this poster has never met the CP. Again, as of this writing, ALL fixed wing pilots have departed the pattern which has resulted in the grounding of all company fixed wing aircraft. They are offering the moon to anyone that can't read between the lines, but it doesn't last. At the end of the day, people usually quit their bosses, not their jobs. This is blatantly obvious and in effect here. Oh, I would be remiss not to mention, the company is involved with multiple and numerous lawsuits against the Sedona (KSEZ) airport Authority and Cottonwood (P52) airport.

Caveat emptor when dealing with this group.
