Pipeline gigs

Anyone have a bead on where I can look for pipeline jobs? I am a low time pilot looking to build some hours, willing to go anywhere. Any feedback would be appreciated, I signed up for climbto350 but lots of minimums like 1500 to get work, so that really doesn't help me, I am not looking for a lot of money just enough to live and get myself up in hours.

Thanks.

K

While there may be a few companies that hire low time pilots for patrol work, it really is not a low time pilot job. It has a high risk factor and therefore needs a pilot that has enough experience to be comfortable flying at the low altitudes required SAFELY. Every year there is at least one accident involving a patrol aircraft. Wire strikes and CFIT are two of the major causes of these accidents.

I cannot remember the name off hand but there was a small company I did some work for out of NE Ohio. They had come up with a imaging system that used a laser to detect gas leaks, they were gaining contracts quick and were always looking for pilots. They had a couple cessna 206s and were in the process of equipping a couple light sport aircraft with the equipment as well. They flew with a two pilot crew, second pilot mostly operated the equipment but still got a decent amount of flight time as there was a lot of missionless legs. Insurance required 250 hours for the right seat and 500 for the left seat. They were jumping at me to fly for them when I got my Commercial and had 250 since I was already on the field and they needed pilots. Long boring hours but they did a lot of flying. Again sorry I cant remember the name, I will look around and see if i can find it. They moved from Salem Air Park to somewhere down in florida last I heard.
