Did computerized tests (some years ago), then got a mail saying I was in some kind of holdingpool. After that I heard nothing and after a year(!!!) I sent some mails and called a couple of times...and after that things happened very fast. Interview with psychologist followed by sim session and employment.

I think it is a good idea to call them, but don't wait as long as I did!

Good Luck!

Turkish777 30th October 2007 23:36

Well when I appiled I got a response within 3 days, an interview 2 weeks later, and then silence as you know..tried ringing today but there was no answer....will try again...

Go Guna Kalnina, gooooo!

DC-8 31st October 2007 19:26

Hi mates,

I've applied for AirBaltic 3 times but haven't received any reply yet. I have around 150 hours in the 737 and 350TT. Any idea? Do you know if is there any minimum age requirement?

Thanks!

Just another student 1st November 2007 11:38

Winglet mate, you do have a great way with words :}

Besides WE ALL know that RRīs are the best engine on the 757 :)

BT are just trying to squeeze as much range out of them as possible.

Just another student 2nd November 2007 16:56

The RR spends more time on the wing than the PW, I believe the turbine life is far longer on the Roller.

The performance issue must be fairly minimal, after all look at the size of the worldīs RR fleet compared to PW.

Typical BT looking for 757īs with the one engine which is harder to get :}

About the other thing, just let me know if you hear anything.

Cheers

Went to the interview. The called me the next day while I was having a beer on the beach in Jurmala. If I could start in two weeks.

Depends how desperate they are for pilots which, by now, should be pretty desperate.

Navigator33 5th November 2007 16:59

Here comes the wetlease again!

And there go the 60+ hours!!!

topper74 7th November 2007 14:53

OMG !!!!

This is what i read on another forum.

" The thing is that we are on a 2200 euro/month deal untill we have 300 hours acumulated within airbaltic coorperation... Or at least thats what we ALL thought since that is exactly what it says in the joboffer they send out to people.
When you then get the REAL contract, it has been changed to 300 hours AFTER line check !!!!!!!
Thereby giving u yet another 1 to 2 months on low salery. "

Fair enough if that was what we were told to begin with.... But I think its extremely unfair to use methods like that.... I even think its directly against the law in most countries

Navigator33 7th November 2007 17:10

You didnīt know that yet? Itīs just getting better by the day.

BT is seriously digging itīs own grave.

OscarYankee 7th November 2007 18:46

I hardly think they are. As long as new hopeful young pilots keep knocking at the door, like I was, they'll be allright. And when/if that ends, I'm sure that there are plenty of pilots from, say Aerosvit, Aeroflot, and Kaliningrad, who would be more than happy to fly for AB for twice their present salary. I'm sure that AB would be able to manage to get approval from latvian CAA to let them fly. It's all a question of money... No mates, it's all about getting the hours, and then get the f*** out of there.(Pardon my french)

TUIFly 15th November 2007 23:18

Hi guys!
Any information about FAA licence validation in Latvia?
Any non-JAA intakes in Air Baltic?

Trolle 16th November 2007 09:25

According to another thread: If you have an FAA validation then you are relegated to flying on Latvian registered aircraft. You would be unable to apply anywhere else. Not sure if it is entirely accurate but I attempted to apply to BT with FAA certificates...no dice.

Re:9th October Interview

Sorry to go off the above topic a bit but I just wondered if the other candidate which attended the interview with me on the 9th of October had any feed back. I have rang and emailed but achived nothing...7 weeks is a long time to wait considering it was meant to be 2 weeks..:ugh:

Turkish777 20th November 2007 08:41

Norrington

Well you're still one ahead of me as I haven't even heard back from the first interview yet...

Brucefish 20th November 2007 20:31

b-ah b-ah b-ah

Navigator33 20th November 2007 21:25

Get used to it guys. If you enter the company youīll find out very soon that the flow of info is reverse here.
You tell management something you found out today and chances are theyīll issue a press release claiming it happened yesterday :ugh:

But in all seriousness Turkish... call them? drive them insane! Itīs unacceptable that they havenīt replied to you yet.

topper74 21st November 2007 05:50

yeah bumfish and turkich....... Domt hesitate to call them... I dont know if they will start a groundcourse in december, but I would imagine so.
Another thing is that I have seen Guna (she did reqruitment before Everita) is back on the job... So maybe theres some information getting lost between those two.
Call them to make sure they still remember who you are.

I really wish you guys the best of luck

Re:Phone calls

Hello guys, ive been ringing once a week and each time they take my mobile number and say they will ring me back, but they never do, so I have been in contact. Bumfitch has had the same experience as me. There is a ground school in December for sure. Theres not a day that goes past with out someone asking me whats happening with the interview I went to! So frustrating
