Which is the "cheapest" Nordic CAA?

Ladies and gents,

I have been holding a Swedish license since I started flying and am close to getting a ATPL (currently holding a CPL). I am at the same time a bit fed up with the ridiculous yearly fees that the Swedish CAA charges, especially the yearly fee on an ATPL is borderline extortion in my opinion.

A few years back I was told that quite a few Swedes were re-flagging their licenses to Denmark to avoid this yearly fee.

Has anyone in here had any experience doing this or just simply have advice on a respectable EASA country where to move the license to avoid these darn fees?

I heard that Danish CAA is cheaper than Swedish CAA as well.

But I found that Danish Authority's web site is old and mess.

How about Norway?

I am thinking of transferring my licence to fast, digital CAA.

For instance Poland is cheap but they accept all documents by regular mail.

If you have any information, please inform us.

Icelandic CAA is the cheapest one. Even comparing to other easa countries.
Always dealt with them through e-mails for my revalidations. Very efficient and quick-respond.

Indeed. Quick to reply, efficient and cheap (unlike other things in Iceland). However the license is not accepted in China if you are planning to head that way.

Thanks for the input. I´ll look into an Icelandic one for kicks.

Slight update - tried to get ahold of the Icelandic CAA through their website but not a word in weeks. If anyone has an e-mail adress that they know works I´d be happy to get it.

I sent an e-mail to [email protected] However I could not get an answer. They probably accept applications from local pilots.

I contacted with Danish and Norwegian CAA. They wrote to me within three days.

Danish CAA noted that it might become 4500 DKK (600 Euro) for transferring process.

Norwegian CAA noted that it might become 3280 NOK for licence transfer, 1560 NOK for medical transfer. It'll become 4840 NOK (483 Euro) in total.

I used [email protected] and no reply in weeks, just as a FYI to anyone following in my footsteps.

Bjornolf And after the transfer neither the Norwegian or the Danish CAA will pester you with a yearly fee just to keep the license, right?

I only have a PPL but the yearly fee was dropped years ago. Since I am new here I cannot post links but I looked at the latest regulation on CAA fees and there are only "initial" fees no yearly fees in it.

Hey,

And you are talking about the Icelandic licenses now, correct?

Thanks.

No. Danish.

Hello,

Norway does not ask annual fee for pilots holding their licence under Norwegian CAA.

I have no knowledge about this subject for Danish CAA.
