SAS piloter til Oman Air
 
Har hørt at en del skal afsted til Oman, på B737, i et par år. Er der nogen herfra der skal derned?

8 crew i 2 år starting april. Muligheter for ytterligere 5 i mai.

Ooooh ! It's a much bigger dogwhistle.... 7000 lbs. Old ? Well. Around 1955 or so. Designed a bit after the MD's ??

There's one group going in April and another in May (I have heard) That is, if SAS will let them go.

HJJ has arranged a fairly poor contract with Oman Air (or whoever arranged it). The pay is not good, and I believe living is not included, nor is a company car. I have a friend who was on a Dash-8 contract in Spain (FO) until January that payed him 30% more than this Oman contract, not including living either, but he had a car at his disposal. And yes, this salary was taxfree as well. I also know B737 FO's who are on contract in the US (without work permits, they are on crew visas) that are earning $6500 a month taxfree. A bit more than $4000...

Dick, what company are they flying for and how is that arranged? SAS just made me redundant and it would be interesting to know where these people are and how many and so forth....

Oman salary + free company housing (or housing allowance) and electricity. Company transport to and from work or a transport allowance. Free medical++.. .It's not the best deal, but certainly not the worst.

Helt enig. Oman dealen er ikke den beste, MEN den er helk klart bedre enn å jobbe 50% i tre år.

Som sagt tidligere får men jo fri bolig, strøm, skolepenger til evt barn, transport til arbeid etc.. .Kanskje man til og med kan knytte kontakter for fremtiden. Det ser jo ikke ut til at vårt kjære selskap ønsker oss så mye godt for fremtiden ?

OK, sorry, jeg maa ha vaert misinformert. Hoerte at bolig ikke var inkludert pluss at transport maatte ordnes selv. I saa fall er ikke $4000 saa verst. Den Excel Airways kontrakten som er tilgjengelig i LGW betaler omtrent det samme, og den er kun for 6 mnd...

. .KADS -&gt; De jeg kjenner som er paa kontrakt i USA (5 capt + 5 FO) jobber for Ryan International (ikke Ryanair...), som er et charter selskap som flyr (for det meste) white trash fra Cleveland, JFK og Baltimore til Mexico, Dom. Rep. og ellers til Karibien. Kontrakten fikk de gjennom PARC aviation foer jul. Treningen bestod i en full type konvertering i USA pa B737 EFIS (ikke NG). Da samtlige hadde ATPL (eller ihvertfall kravet til ATPL) var det lett aa faa seg FAA ATP. Bare ta eksamen og saa regnes typekurset ditt som ATP checkride. Bare en av dem var amerikaner, resten arbeider i USA paa Crew Visa, som blant annet innebaerer at de ikke kan fly innenriks i USA, kun ut av landet. Loennen er $6500 per maaned for FO's. Samtlige av de som fikk jobb var allerede current paa B737 EFIS foer de dro til Miami for sitt FAA typekurs. De jobber stort sett 3 uker paa, 1 uke fri.
