I would suspect that all crew at Finncomm will have their jobs transferred to Flybe Nordic. Whether Flybe mainline will recruit for the subsidiary remains to be seen, although I shouldn't think they will.

Will there be any changes regd the requirements to read/write/speak Finnish?

They are likely to be recruiting heavily due to Finnair outsourcing 12 E190s to them from Oct 2012. Finnair will also outsource 120 pilots but is going to recruit them to their growing Asian business during coming 4 years.

Flybe Finland does not recruit pilots who don´t speak fluent finnish. Only some cases they might do exception but I have saw it only once. That time those pilots was already type rated. Today none off these contract pilot don´t work for Flybe Finland anymore.

Company usually recruits pilots from flight school and when resources are very tight then they recruit captains. When that is not enough then it might be time for foreigners (type rated of course) to get some kind off contract for limited time. After that contract you will be able to continue in company only if you start to learn finnish language.

So if it drifts in this situation then it might be possible for foreigners who don´t know language...

And the purchase by Flybe obviously did not improve the old mentality. Not so long ago, Air Finland was very proud to state on its internet pages "All of our pilots are Finnish"..... :ugh:

No requirement for Finnish citizenship as we are part of EU. You must be fluent in Finnish....that´s true. I´ve heard that there are quite a few low experience pilots already passed the selection and waiting for the type rating / company course. Enough pilots for the rest of the year but need for couple of dozens new F/O´s 2013?

"No requirement for Finnish citizenship as we are part of EU"... that's what the papers say!! We are few bi-nationals , with all the application requirements who never got invited for the selection tests. And we do speak finnish fluently!:=

And to my knowledge, the company does not have one foreigner flying for them , they were all contract pilots and have left by now. It is a fact in these harsh economic time, in Europe only few airlines accept foreign applications and flybe nordic is not an exception.... :uhoh:

Just heard that Flybe Nordic will organize TR course in March. Also rumor says that few applicants who have send their application last year have received invitation to sim check which will be held during February
