Havarirapport for OY-STL Sterling Airways Sud Aviation SE-210 Caravelle 10B3

Hej

Er der nogen der har havariraporten fra dette flystyrt (14. marts 1972 i Kalba, nær Fujairah, United Arab Emirates)? Jeg vil meget gerne låne den!

Does anyone have a copy of the accident investigation report concerning this A/C crash (March 14th 1972 in Kalba, near Fujairah, United Arab Emirates)? I would love to borrow it.

Best regards

Jeg er sikker på at HCL har rapporten. Du kan eventuelt tage ind og besøge dem på adressen, hvis du vil se alle detaljer ved rapporten.

Flightnumber: 296
Narrative:
Sterling Flight 296 was a charter service from Colombo (CMB) to Copenhagen (CPH), Denmark. A refueling stop was planned at Dubai (DXB). The Caravelle jet was cleared for a straight-in VOR approach to runway 30. The crew descended out of FL135 until the plane struck a mountain ridge at 1600 feet.

PROBABLE CAUSE: Descended below minimum prescribed altitude, probably because the pilots thought they were closer to Dubai than they actually were, due to incorrect information on the outdated flight plan and/or due to a misreading of the weather radar.
