Postkontraken (Norwegian Mail Contract)
http://www.dn.no/forsiden/naringsliv/article790018.ece
Anyone with performance info on the ATP or HS748 with regards to: - JAR-OPS 1.245(a)(1) or (2) criteria (60 or 120 minutes S/E from adequate aerodrome) on the awarded Tromsø - Svalbard - Tromsø route? - JAR-OPS 1.295 requrements for destination alternate(s) on the same route? It's roughly a 550 NM mile stretch without alternates available on Svalbard. |

Does anyone know when the contract will start?, should be plenty of hiring for West Air Sweden to staff eight A/C with crew.
:D New jobs in Norway as well as i Sweden |
...
It would be VERY interesting if "Posten" knows about this and if West Air will care about it at all... (Unfair competition and playing with safety) Nowdays only low cost counts as we all know. Rules and regs are not followed by many of the the smaller carriers as they should, and we all know it. WHERE IS LT!!!???
|
Tromsø - Longyearbyen will NOT be flown with ATP or HS. West Air will wet lease a jet to fly the route.
|
Yep, it should be done by a wetleased CRJ200
|
Does anyone know about the interviews? Are they all completed? And what are the required flight-hours?
|
Any truth to the rumour about operating ATRs at Westair? I thought it might be in Normay but perhaps it too has insufficient performance for the long north routes.
/Deice |
Hello!
The required flight-hours are as follows: Captain: 3000 TT which 1000 hours twin engine. First Officer: 500 TT which 200 hours twin engine and MCC. I think they still looking for Captain's, F/O i am not sure. They will be operating an ATR72 but i don't know yet if this will be in Norway or some other country. The primary aircraft for flying the Norwegian mail will be done with the BAE ATP and CRJ200 leased to fly Tromsø-Svalbard route. Good luck to you all, fly safe! :ok: |
CRJ..
|
On the other hand Norwegian is starting traffic from Arlanda. Too bad that's not a swedish company... I guess what goes around comes around.
|
You're missing my point here. Arlanda, Oslo, Copenhagen - all have national carriers operating alongside foreign carriers. And that's good - competition is good. And I'm not saying that West Air is taking "our" jobs - they'll probably want to hire Norwegians: I'm just pointing out the fact that Norway no longer has any small charter/mail/freight/ad-hoc-companies (well - not THAT many, anyway), because SK/WF etc. are handling it all. I miss the colour and diversity. :)

West Air Sweden
Any news about work scheduele, Bases of aircraft, other conditions (Pay,Pension insurance etc) Bonding/selfunding TR???
|
Hello!
For new FO's the work schedule will be 6 week's on & 3 week's off. I think one a/c will be based in West and one in the North and the main base for the rest of the a/c will be Oslo/Gardermoen. You can choose 2 ways: either to pay the TR up front cash or bond yourself with the company for 3 years, draw SEK 5 500,- pr/month which gives about SEK 200 000,- for the BAE ATP TR. Hope this was to some help! Best Regards! :ok: |
West Air Sweden Interviews
Hi.
Does anybody know the interview format and content? What is used for the sim check ride? Route information seems to be a little difficult to establish so any help here would be brilliant too. Any help would be most appreciated and might help me turn a long struggle into an achievement to be proud of.:) |

Just wait until sept/oct when people get back from their leave and recruitement picks up again!! It will get really good!! /CP |

On the other hand it isn't that many companies to day which offer bonding, they require that you have taken the TR before you can even apply for the job. A TR on the B737 may give you a intervju, but it is a long way to land the job especially if you don't have hours on the type which are mention here. If you take this bonding, you at least don't have to take up extra loan. The conditions are hard to begin with, but as the first years go by, it's getting better and better i think and you at least have a flying job and are current operational! And for me as a lowtimer i see this as a good way and start to my aviation caeer! I have landed my first job on an ATP a/c and are very happy! Think positive - work hard!:ok:
