Finnair MD-11 landed on a wrong rwy in Miami
 

Incidents happen out there, but they aren´t always shared with other aviatiors/public. Last february one of Finnairs MD-11 landed on a wrong rwy in Miami International.

According to one of the finnish newspaper the crew experienced an equipment malfunction during the approach to rwy 27R. Due to that unknown distraction the crew accidentally landed on rwy 26R. (If you look at the airport diagram, it could easily happen if nobody is paying any attention to the flightpath)

The captain realised this over the threshold, but desided to continue, because he estimated that this was safer to do at that point.

How was weather? Did they ask the tower when realizing their mistake? and so on.......

Seems really that they just f.....ed up and now when hide and seek game is over and TV published the mistake they have started to explanations and BS.
It is always easy to be wise afterward but I still wonder. Don´t they have TOGA-buttons installed in MD11, in the matter of flight safety.
