TRD rwy 09 visual approach
Hi,
a bit windy was today and my first time in TRD.
I noticed that local guys flew visual approach 09 and came towards rwy from left (sea) side. Final turn to rwy was made quite late(500 feet maybe). I flew ILS...not a nice memory. Is there less gusts then You do visual from left of centerline.
Can someone please shear some approach tips in TRD for rwy 09 in extreme south winds.
Happy landings

Winds from the SE at TRD can be at beiotch sometimes. Best tip on a visual approach is to use your eyes. Look at the topography, look at the ocean to spot the downdrafts. Avoid them as best you can.

Agree with TuckUnder77/Guttn. TRD is not very pleasant with south-easterly winds. I belive that SAS or Braathens was the first to use this procedure some years back. Tower know about the windshear problems, and have never heard any complaints about a/c flying high and north of centerline.
