Long Haul Norwegian

Ifølge media skal Norwegian flyve CPH - New York. Hvilke fly bliver det så ? Gamle 757ere ?

Hi

I'm also interested in the interview format at Norwegian.

I would like to go a step furter. Is there someone on this forum working for them? Happy with salary, working atmosphere etc???

How is living standard in oslo? And what about taxes?

Thanks for every info.

Yes

Good, Good, yes and GOOOD not necessarily in that order.
Interview is just a coffee chat. Indoc course is where they test you. Then standard 6 month probation.

The Norwegian website indicates that they hire DECs. Any idea about the pay for such?

According ppjn you get 299.804 NOK before tax + 711nok a day.
So around 3600 eur per month before tax. But life is very expensive (especially Oslo)there and it seems you have to pay a lot of tax.

chrs

They`re appearantly looking for pilots for their new HEL base. It also looks like they hire DECs in addiotion to internal FO upgrades. How does that fit in on a seniority list?

I guess the same principle applies as in WF...

When "native" FOs meet the minimum qualifications for CPT-upgrade, the DECs are being offered FO positions. Quite normal in the industry!?

Seniority-wise, DECs are of course inserted on the bottom of the seniority list.

Uuuuh no. Is this how it goes down? DECs get a lower rank position when the natives get an upgrade? How about salaries etc? Do they then get FO wages?

Don't rely on PPJN, DY new hires get paid for experience. Most with jet time will start at around the NOK500K mark. DECs, don't think so anymore, plenty of FO's with enough time to upgrade. However things change so who knows what tomorrow will bring. One thing for sure, tomorrow won't bring you for an interview in Oslo unless you speak a Scandi language..

Didn't they have some contract DEC's from PARC this summer ?

AFAIK permanent DEC's are a no-no ? so I am led to believe, well, not so interesting to join as DEC if the first Scandwegian SFO avail to upgrade bumps you into the RHS

As stated it appears a Scandi language & a strong internal recommendation is de riguer, so, Brie, do you have Francwegian or Scancaise among your language skills ? ?

Its impossible getting an interview even if you speak scandi!

I´ll second that. I tick all the boxes, got the recommendations from within, plenty of hrs on type, speak a scandic language ,still nothing... I bet they are snowed under with applications, and i fully understand. It seems like a very nice company to work for.
Rumour has it that they are gonna change the whole recruitment process from next year, thus not relying so much on the in-house recommendations but more on quality of hrs? I dont know.
