As, very much, an outsider, I am interested to know, what is your assumedly, strong union doing to protect you long term? What I heard, they have accepted to take contract prostitutes (like me) as long as the existing guys keep their T's & C's. . .isn't that a rather short term/defeatist solution ? basically it is saying, the good days are done, protect who is here today, & tomorrows guys ? well, you are f*cked.
Well nobody gets ****** without first lowering their pants, right?
By working on (I assume) rather short term contracts here and there you automatically pull in the opposite direction of all traditional and hard working pilot unions. Expecting these same unions to protect future jobs, yours as well, is in my eyes pretty arrogant or naive at best.

Didn't ask for protection, I was asking what you full time "Norwegian Contract" guys (who I formerly admired for their T's & C's, especially in comparison to Ryanair) were thinking about , in allowing this to happen whilst fixating on short-term maintenance of your contracts, rather than seeing the danger of "divide & conquer" that you appear to be allowing to have a foot in the door.
There are many short term contracts available worldwide, perhaps they pull in the opposite direction to unions, perhaps not, but surely the point you should be addressing is not whether I wish to be a soldier of fortune, but why your union (with your blessing ? ) is allowing it to happen.
Someone amongst you should take a long hard look at what has happened in Ryanair this last 10 years, because what you are allowing to happen, is just the trojan horse your management are looking for.
Don't shoot the messenger, instead (if it pleases you) answer the question, or at least address it & its potential consequences amongst yourselves more fully, or repent at your leisure as you watch the train crash in slow-mo.
Most Scandi FO's I flew with this last 2 years wanted to progress to either Emirates or Norwegian, following the introduction of the Estonian contract in HEL, the percentage wishing to avoid the desert has dwindled to a trickle, don't you think this tells you something about the future of the company ?

Capt PS.

You are ofcourse, asking very timely questions. There is however, one union available to all pilots in Norway, NF. NF is part of ECA and IFALPA and is working long term to improve conditions for and look after the interests of its pilots - not just in Norway but across the industry.
One union, consisting of the the former BU body, decided to withdraw from NF and the other union being the DY pilots, never joined.
You are free to speculate why they acted this way. I say, you reap what you sow. Just look at the FOs (former BU) and their career opportunities and your own analysis of DY.

I think to understand this you have to understand the history of the scandi airline unions. The problem NF faces together with SPF is that they have had no interest in protecting or for that matter fight for anyone but SK-pilots. We all know the story about the LF pilots. Remember that the LF guys were all members of SPF, and as such also members of IFALPA.
Then it happened again in, I think 2004, when the BU guys were to be integrated in the SK family.
The one and only reason they all didn't end up with the LF deal was because they had their own union.
I wish these were the only stories about IFALPA in Scandinavia but I have neither the time nor interest in fueling this fire
So now some here are calling for unity. Well how do you figure we should do that? Should we all be loyal to IFALPA (SPF and NF), an organisation who have so blatantly disregarded the issues for around 50% of us?

And captplaystation, try google translate, I do to understand some of the guys from Norway

Edit note:LF refers to Linje Flyg
