Norwegian and bases?

Hi folks!

Just heard that Jettime will accomodate Norwegian in their expansion in DK. What is the basing-situation like in Norwegian now?! I would have thought there were a few danes and Southern Swedes who'd like to be based in CPH, but still find themselves in OSL..? A friend of mine works for Jettime and he's very confident that they will continue to operate for Norwegian for quite a while. Costly... Any DY-crew that can enlighten me?

Any progress on basing for DY now that mr Kjos has declared an expansion from CPH?
6 aircraft, B738, might imply that the base will be crewed by .no? Have they started recruiting yet? Any Sterling-boys/girls who have been drafted and care to share?

Today on a Dutch internetsite the CEO of Transavia announced that it would be highly likely that HV will start a Danish transavia.com next summer.

Rumor from before said they had 50 too many at ARN, so I think there are enough people to go around

Of course, they would never fire guys before making room in CPH first and getting rid of jettime....right?

If the rumers are true:
NO: 42 in excess
SE: 50 in excess

....so, why do they plan to interview and hire 50 new pilots these days?

Something doesn´t sound right

Skremmende hvor mye rykter som svirrer her fortiden.
Men, er jo sikkert en grunn til de skal ansette piloter, tror ikke det kjører intervju på moro skyld..

The 50 redundant in Sweden and the 42 in Norway work for different companies with different AOC and different collective agreements.

The new hires in .no are to take care of further fleet growth.

The 50 redundant in Sweden are now busy with their wet-lease to norwegian.no in CPH.

The 42 redundant in Norway are busy with extraordinary northern Norway courses and line-training on top of NG difference training.

These courses will be ended this spring.

So... no redundant pilots in .no then. 50 new pilots needed temporarily due to NG/nothern norway courses and expansion. Is that what you are saying?

So, if offered job, it's only for around 6 months or so?

Some are expected to be 6 month contracts over the summer, others will be permanent.

The new hires has nothing to do with the course activity, that is taken care of by the 40+ redundant pilots and pilots working overtime. After the course activity is reduced, the redundant capacity will be needed for general expansion. On top of that, contract and fulltime hires will take place.

or maybe the problem is that the fishmongers in norway gives new directives every two weeks?

hey boys, this week you need 8 md's and 2 738's, maybe you need your AOC, we dont know.

next week they deliver something else...

how is anyone going to be able to make anything work with that...

So .no is now recruiting from outside at a time when the .se base is well overstaffed. When CPH opens I'd say they will take care of their own and move any superfluous norwegians over there.

Left standing with nothing will be the Swedish who're by then no longer needed in Stockholm. Professional stuff Perhaps if they are really lucky the new hires will be from former competitor Sterling just to rub that little bit of extra salt in the wounds eh.

I heard from a person in norwegian HQ that not a single pilot from Fly Nordic has applied for pilot position in the mother company. In Oslo applications from Fly Nordic pilots are most welcome.

They may have hopes for a merger that will not take place under any circumstances.

13th stage

You do not have your facts correct about Braathens and Malmö.
Not all pilots from Transwede got sacked. It was a merger handled from the Unionpilots and both parties agreed. Pilots from both companies had to go.

Norweigan leadership is not Gods gift to flying, that is for sure

All the best to all the unemployed pilots out there. Remember that it always turn. Take any flying job anywhere.

Unfortunately the Scandinavian market is not so big and therefore hard.

Well Bengan U hit the spot, if Norwegian is going to stand a chance in CPH they better do a hell of a better job than in sweden. I for one thought that norwegian.no was a serious company now I´m not so shure... Maby the only thing norwegian did right was to come along when SAS and braathens had a hard time proving to the norwegian public that while killing the norwegian icon, braathens they were still a norwegian company. So both luck and genius on behalf of .no. But rebranding a swedish company norwegian.se is not genius just stupid and then let a Finnish CEO run the damn thing
So now they just have luck left so keep you´re fingers crossed
you and me should drink beer some day....maybe we already have...this must be the most fukked up story ever...
