There are discussions ongoing on how the reduced salary plan will be implemented. It was presented to the pilots as a "done deal" with the union , when this was not in fact the case.
The winter programme is reputedly much slimmed down, although the HR Dept was not made aware of this until the last moment ,and, continued recruiting to operate effectively most of the flights of the Summer programme. Then, along came the elections, and airBaltics 15th Birthday announcement on 1st Oct, "Happy Birthday" indeed, but for who?
I heard that current recruitment is indeed for next Spring, maybe even for airFlick rather than airBaltic, but, nobody that knows what is really happening is telling, and the rest of us are merely suspicious/mystified in = measure.

All very very strange.

Agreed
do not expect to receive a salary before Spring, even if you have a proposition. Internal memo today alludes to the fact not enough pilots opted for the 75% "offer," so 4mths unpaid leave may be on the cards for most recent recruits.
Union are participating, but ameliorating anything ? time will tell.
Some clarification urgently required of what exactly is happening, and why, but nobody is telling the big picture.
Could definitely be a very nice place to come to, but best let the dust settle first, situation far from clear for the moment.

As I understand the second stage it is memory games. For example the psychologist will give you a sequence of three numbers which you have to read back in reverse order, followed by 4 numbers and so on. I think there is a similar test with words. It doesn't sound too difficult, but a bit of mental agility training might be in order (go shopping without a shopping list perhaps?). I am going in the next week or two as well.

When will more Q400's get delivered?

Does anyone have any information when the remaining 5 Q400's will be delivered to Air Baltic? The aircraft are currently in Toronto by the delivery centre at YYZ, still with their Canadian registrations.

it seems they are doing all the recruitment - sim, psycho test etc - and place everyone in the stand by pool

doesn't make sense to take up valuable time and then not hiring

I am invited for a assessment.
Do you think that they will keep all of us in the pool until summer?

stand-by pool is ..... a stand-by pool i think that they want to embark on a pretty aggressive expansion but are currently sorting out the financing. if it happens then you will be called, if not.....well "your qualifications do not match the ones we are looking for"

I heard that it's similar to PILAPT, nothing really complicated if you have passed first day selection. The issue to me is to know when is AB going to call the pilots in the pool? Any news about that? It seems that new DAsh are arriving these days

cheers

It's an interview with a Psychologist, where you get a task to draw
something things in a paper. also you can get a series of numbers given to you one by one (like five thousand two hundred..), this numbers can have some large extension, your task is to read back as many as you can backwards.(no pen/paper). You get some computer testing done too, something like the compass test, not exactly the same. So expect some math too, no calculators allowed, only pen/paper. Sum, divisions etc. The basics.

good luck!

For any one who reads this. Please don't send me PM about Air Baltic, any question please post here instead.

AirBaltic eRecruite

Dear all,

please, kindly comment on the e-mail automatically generated by AirBaltic eRecruite:

"We have started the recruitment process for the vacancy for which you applied. You will be provided with further information."

as some of you have previously received it and, moreover, this matter was slightly discussed (via pm) some time before here.

What does it mean and what follows?

Thank you.

This standby pool is starting to become a little bit curious. As far as I know a good bunch of pilots, including me are waiting for vacants. It seems that financial problems are solved and new Q400 are arriving during this month and also looks like none F50 are leaving the company by now. Sooooo.... If all of above is correct, what are they waiting to call new pilots? and why is AB still doing recruitment?

any info very welcome..

Cheers.

They employ the lovely Diaga ,and others, in HR, so recruitment costs nothing ,as long as they remain, and hopefully will continue to do so, in employment.

Better to have a pool full of hopefull little fish, swimming round in circles, than an empty glass bowl.

Guys, my only connection with them is as a contract Capt last year, but, I have to tell you, they are like every airline I ever knew, reactionary, short term thinking, unpredictable. . . . typical airline.
They are, intrinsically, nice to work with, as caring as you will find in this industry, which means. . not TOO much, but get real, they will contact you if or when they are ready, so stop posting here like the expectant groom anticipating the bride presenting herself in Aubade.
You will be allowed a glimpse of her stocking top when she is ready to receive you, not before.

New info dated 18th Jan just appeared on ppjn.com stating that airBaltic had an order for 30 A320/319.

I have googlealert for airB and nothing appeared to substantiate this info, anyone know what prompted this, or it was just wishful thinking on someones part
