I understand that there was many new companies started in Finland recently. Would love to hear how things are taking place!
Are crews happy or is there still greener grass other side of the fence?

Air Finland is establishing well in the business. They just got few new deals with travel agencies and one with the cruise line.
Crews seems to be happy there anyhow.
Flying Finn are really in fight with Finnair and now the competing agency-kilpailuvirasto is investigating Finnairs acts about dump pricing their flight etc.
Other companies, I just can quess. Maybe someone else will continue...

Just disregard this techman type. He does not have the courtesy to provide translations.
He has an axe to grind with Finns... And is apparently suffering immensly when anything involving Finland or Finns surface.
This thread was started to get some action on this forum. Seems that some just cant resist picking a fight.

I don't hear much from Denmark, Sweden or Norway about aviation news. Except Iceland, where Air Atlanta is growing fast!
Finland seems to have opened up a number of new airlines to compete aggressively with Finnair.
Folks from the rest of Nordic countries, please tell us what's going on in aviation!

<I have long ago installed a Techman filter.
<Try it, - you will like it!
Excellent idea! Why I did not do this earlier. Thanks for a hint.
Anybody got a information about Söderair? Are they still in business and going to start operations or what.
Air Botnia is still hiring pilots. They just got two new RJ100 jumbolinos and are operating now as far as GVA. Geneva must be just on the range limits of the Avro.
Any news from Sweden? Are those 747s going to be grounded in ARN for ever? I have heard that it would be almost impossible to get certificates for those planes anymore- so they cannot be flown in Africa either Sad to watch their rusty bodys waiting for final call...

The reason for not being a lot of traffic from Scandinavia or the Nordic countries, a term which also includes Finland, could be that they're all on in another "cockpit" or "forum" or both.
If you wanted to know what's going on you could read whats said in the hangar.no, but then you would have to learn Norwegian. But maybe the images can give you an idea.
A lot goes on actually, both in Sweden, Finland and in Norway, not so much in Denmark, although rumours have it someone is still making an attempt to get something going again after NewAir shut up shop.
The startup Norwegian is doing well, rumours will have it they've ordered three more and that AMS is next on the list. Some in Sweden is looking for pilots, read more on flygtorget.se. Sterling wants to move out of CPH, tried Vaerlose 10-15 north but got no, offered Odense but does'nt want to, thus stalemate.
OK?

Aything happening in Scandiland?
Ja det er fint. Men nu var spørgsmålet jo om Skandinavien
[Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English]
SCANDINAVIAN
1. of the countries Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland in northern Europe, or their people or languages.
[The Random House Encyclopaedia]
SCANDINAVIA
1. region of northern Europe consisting of
the kingdoms of Sweden, Norway and Denmark;
culturally and historically Finland and Iceland
are often considered part of this area.
If you want to think it geographically, then Scandinavian Peninsula includes Norway, Sweden and northern part of Finland.

While we're splitting hairs here I might as well add some as well..
Actually nobody spoke nothing about scandinavia in the topic "Aything happening in Scandiland?" before techman stepped in with his pointless remark. Can't find a decent definition of Scandiland... anyone?
There was a question about situation in Finland and somebody was kind enough to answer. Simple as that.
But if I take a peek to my history books I might find a chapter or maybe even 2 where Finland was actually part of Sweden with a finnish speaking population. Now there's a dilemma.. was the area that is now known as Finland back then part of Scandinavia by any other definition than Geographical (Northern most part of finland does actually belong to the mountain range.. check your books Conan)
Thanks for all the people who did clarify the status of our industry in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland and Finland.

As there was quite a spat recently when a thread deviatet from the title, I though it was reasonable to point out that the same thing was again happening here.
Apparently that was also wrong.
