Air Operators Certificate

Hi. Not sure where I should put this thread but would apppreciate any general info. For a small company operating a few small Pipers/Cessnas, what expense is involved in gaining a Restricted Air Operators Certificate to allow pleasure flights etc? My understanding is a Restricted A-B AOC or an AOA AOC would suffice and as such this reduces costs though I'm unsure of all related costs for an application and award.

I seem to recall a few companies that you could buy AOC manuals from. I think they started at about 4000 pounds for a set - only took 4 years to complete the application! Last I heard the CAA were happy to refer you to these companies.
