Yes, driving home last night I heard this on the news and thought "hmmm, it certainly won't be your blood Tony", the guy's completely lost it now....

It will be his blood if I get my hands on him;)

Perhaps if we have another set to in the Gulf we might again lose more of our personnel to our allies than the enemy,that "would secure our special relationship" duh!!!!!

Does that phraseology imply that he actually had a grasp on the plot in the first place?:rolleyes:

Shabby journalism strikes again. Look at the BBC headline:

Britain will pay 'blood price' - Blair

The report goes on:

Britain must be prepared to pay a "blood price" to secure its special relationship with the US, Prime Minister Tony Blair has told the BBC ahead of talks on Iraq with President Bush.

Blair didn't use the words 'blood price' at all. The presenter, Michael Cockerell, did. The gist of the question was whether Blair was prepared to commit forces in support of the US, which, of course, he is.

I'm not an apologist for Blair, but the quality of our journalists concerns me far more than the quality of our politicians.

The sound bite itself is harsh yet that's nothing to do with Blair. It's simply an awakard question for Blair to answer. He can't excatly say no can he. I wouldn't say it was Shabby journalism. Journalism is all about getting the 3rd party to answer awkard questions that they would rather talk around than answer it straight. Blair was caught out by him and had to answer yes.

Questions such as, "Do you still beat your wife?".
