So..the Stainforth trophy.

I wiki'ed it, and believe that it's presented to the 'top' air command station, but what's the criteria for being selected? I take it the station has to be performing above average in all respects, maybe a A- ? ;)

Being the only one left will soon be the only criteria.

It's awarded to the Station with the highest percentage of people who've done fitness tests, E & D, Human Factors and DII security assessments.

Nothing else matters really.

So it's not the same as something you might have acquired during a night-out from Finningley?

Stitchbitch 20th March 2012 22:31

Lol, that explains it then.. Thanks.

It's a big deal for Station Commanders..... a bit like the end of year prize for the house with the best record:

most distinctions or stars
best sports day performance
least amount of detentions
best colouring-in
tidiest desks

If you get awarded the prize, then you are recognised as a true company man and will be elevated to the Air Ranks. It's the important stuff that gets you recognised in the Royal Air Farce. Then one day, you have to leave, grow up and get a real job. :}

Not forgetting the number of times the station has appeared in the RAF News pushing retiring WO's around the station in old cockpits.
