But wasn't Boris immense?

uffington sb 11th September 2012 12:32

Evanepus.
Fantastic speech. You can say what you want about old BoJo, but he certainly put his heart and soul into London, GB and the Olympics.
Could you imagine what it would have been like if Red Ken had won the election!

teeteringhead 11th September 2012 12:45

One thinks that the Olympics has - amongst its many other "legacies" - put dear BoJo much closer to No 10.

Yes please!!

cornish-stormrider 11th September 2012 13:14

seconded - don't let the bumbling fool of BoJo's personality trick you.
He is actually one of the few politicians I would actually vote for.

The income tax thingie between him and Kommie Ken where it turned out Ken was a lying hypcrite and Boris, oops, paid too much tax.......

Hmmmmmm, i think he was being honest and then thought, sneakily, if i over pay a bit and Ken brings up tax paying, we get a win win.

Cunning, very cunning.

Would Boris pass selection as an MP though? I somehow think the party elite would blackball him
And where would he stand for election?

Heatedfuelreturn 12th September 2012 14:18

Post Mortum time already

What was the cost to the mil, for their involvement, I hope the guys and gals get the recognition they deserve...and either a bonus payment via G4S

I hope East London, gets the result it deserves.

I hope that BoJo get the PM posting too.....

The recognition I've heard about is a commemorative COIN (yes, like a medal but without a ribbon!) for those that spent 7 days or more doing Op OLYMPICS stuff. Now if "call me Dave" could make it a £2500 coin then that would do just fine, thank you :ok:

seadrills 13th September 2012 20:34

The award of a commemorative coin is very welcome and a great honour. I know a lot of 43 CDO have told me they were delighted to hear of the award ...... Fabulous news and well done to all of you

The chance to do it all again in Glasgow? ;)

Wouldn't it be nice if G4$ were doing this for the benefit of the UK?

But, do any of their Directors' bonuses have criteria like 'boosted the defence of the UK'?

This is happening because the Government policy of boosting reserve forces has failed because they've trashed the T&Cs, so they need some PR, and G4$ will be getting free training out of it. That, and it is necessary PR for them too in their bid to start getting Government business again.
G4S wins first central Government contract since tagging scandal - Telegraph

Anyone think this is completely unconnected to G4$ winning the DWP contract less than 3 months ago?

G4$ are making money out of this or they wouldn't be doing it.

In light of Crapita's failings, any chance of some forelock tugging jockying for position?
