JaJ,
Its pretty much ad-hoc/free-flow. I run my IFA business in parallel, so do it on a voluntary basis when tasked by the FSA/MoD (I tend to pick up the RAF and many Army requests) or when someone sends me an e-mail/PM asking me to present somewhere. If you're interested, its best/easiest/quickest/simplest! to drop me a PM and we can take it from there. |
By way of general interest as much as 'owt, ONS has just released new inflation figures.
National Statistics Online - Inflation CPI: 3.7% (up from 3.3%) RPI: 4.7% (up from 4.7%) Bag that fixed rate whilst you can..? |
Inflation
CPI inflation 3.7%, RPI 4.8% The nice coalition government, has stiched up most pensioners, to the tune of 1.1% , at the present time, by changing the yearly pension rise for most pensioners from RPI to CPI :* |
Only really relevant to ex forces people who are living outside UK and have no intention of returning but transferring to a QROPS pension scheme can be advantageous for people in this situation.
I obtained a transfer value on my RAF pension just before all pension transfers were 'frozen pending recalculation' in mid 2010. I have just received the new transfer value, some 6 months after the intial valuation and it is worth 20% less. But because of the reduced increments I can expect if I stay in the AFPS it is still worthwhile my transferring out. Very sad day as that is my last link with the military severed. |
