Helos everywhere...

Lot of activity around Marchwood SMC today - any ideas why?

Possibly due to the Yanks at Pompey? Anyways, cheers to the crew of the HC4 that flew right over my house at 1458 Local, travelling northbound.

To the Chinook crew who overflew ACW Towers (N52.72840 W002.99672) at 501ft MSD at 1751 today heading roughly 045. . .

Brilliant! More please! And a little lower next time.

Spheroid,

Were they landing and taking off at the many Fishead HLS on the Solent - in otherwords were they conducting VIP Tax (or I think the Dark Blue call SOOTAX or something?).

Maybe not practical (or unchievable) to take off and land at both locations and climb to 2000' - especially in the Sea King ;)

spheroid 7th April 2009 17:04

No, they took off and then climbed to about 100-200' and they stayed at that height for about 8 miles. If they were carrying passengers then that would make them doubly guilty as we all know you cannot low fly with passengers.

They are Junglies; they can do what the hell they like!!!!

Seriously, you CAN low fly with passengers in certain circumstances. Spheroid, check your JHC Flying Order Book...
