Quick Question(ref LSGCM)
Anyone know after how many years we get awarded a clasp to the LSGCM.??
|
15 Years for the original LSGCM (if eligible and you don't have to apply as I did!). 30 Years for clasp.
|
Thanks (will miss the clasp by 1 year) for what its worth.

Clasp
It's not worth anything!

I nearly missed the LSGCM for a training charge while I was at Halton. I realise dust on my locker is a terrible crime and my case was 'reviewed' to see if I could still have a gong. I won't get the clasp though, 3 years to go and no plans to stay on, but I hear you can get a lovely veterans badge from PSF so that is some consolation!

You'll get nothing from PSF, have to see the HR people now !

Are they the Hardly Ready people?;)

A couple of other little gems you may or may not know...
1. If awarded the LS&GC and then subsequently commissioned, you are entitled to the clasp (and rosette when wearing the ribbon only) provided you commissioned after 22 years of service as an "OR". If commissioned before that point, no clasp. 2. It is possible to have two LS&GC. Initial LS&GC awarded whilst in one Service, individual then transfers with unbroken service. When elligible for clasp, he can not be awarded a clasp to his original as he is no longer in that Service therefore he gets an LS&GC from his current Service. There are currently two in the AAC in that situation. Howzat! |
It used to be after 18 years of undetected crime
