It's because we don't want to look bad in the post accident/incident media scrum...
Media type: "So were you afraid?" Pilot, post media briefing and keypoints wanted from HQ: "No way, I was following my extensive training and procedures, so was too busy to be the least bit scared. In the bar later with lads while sobbing into 18th pint of lager: "Christ, I was cr@pping myself, I really thought I was going to die!" Shortly followed by alcohol related collapse At least that's sort've how it was with me :\ |
Having followed the link and read ALL the posts, my decision never to fly in a chopper ( except in an emergency/rescue situation) seems eminently sane.
