'awks in EMA

Next to my more humble steed this morning at East Mids, two shiny black Hawks.

Jolly?

Probably 208 positioning for an air display (1 aircraft plus spare.......... plus groundcrew, wives and girlfriends, toolkits, badges, giveaways etc etc)

Ark, how could you miss the C-130 that was there also. The one lugging their ego's around!! ;)

240....................

Errr, it was my 4th Early, but the only C130 I saw was on the freight apron in the colours of a middle east air force.

Where was the Fat Albert parked?

I wonder where they were off to. I wonder if there is a web site thats lists forthcoming displays of military aircraft (especially Shars and Hawks, nbr 2 son mad keen on joining the FAA). I saw a fantastic display from a Hawk (black) at Duxford last year. The pilot looked every bit a young ace. Imagine the knicker elastic loosening potential .... fantastic, I envy him.

Dashing displaty pilot

Last years Hawk display was flown by a Creamy, and a jolly good instructor he was too, except for his penchant for humming/buzzing during quiet moments in the cockpit!

I believe this years chap is also a Creamy but the display is shared between 208 and the Ton.

Ray.
