Fokker F27 lost in NW Pakistan
Pakistan Air Force Chief Mushaf Ali Mir was killed in an air crash in a mountainous area in the northwest frontier province, it was announced in Islamabad on Thursday.
Seventeen other PAF officers were also killed in the crash. The air chief was going to the city of Kohat in a Fokker aircraft when it crashed in Tolanj mountain in Gumbat area, some 35 km from Kohat city, where he was due to inspect an air base. According to the report, the plane crash was due to the bad weather conditions. |
That's odd......
http://www.satribune.com/archives/de...1_PAFStory.htm http://www.satribune.com/archives/de...pewinecomm.htm :Most of the PAF officers were unhappy with the Air Chief, it appeared. This would be something not very pleasant for Air Marshal Mushaf Ali Mir to hear, if he is at all worried. At times when the armed forces need to be very alert and ready, with the officers ready to perform their national duty with a sense of honor and pride, such ill feelings in senior ranks of the force against their own chief are bad news. The actual loss list, sounds like a lot of Pakistans Top Crabs .... PAF Air Chief Marshal Mushaf Ali Mir, his wife, Air Marshal Salim Nawaz, Air Marshal Razzaq, Air Commodore Jawed and Air Commodore Raja Rizwan were among the plane crash victims |
It wouldn't be the first time an unpopular Pakistani general has fallen out of the sky...or it might be a CFIT into those wild NW Frontier mountains given the weather at the time (snow storms). But if you're a political cynic like me...
