With the increase in popularity of the Military Aircrew Page, could we please now have seperate pages for Army, RAF and RN Aircrew? It would save me having to dredge through pages of moaning comments from crabs and bleatings from the fish heads!!

Chicken leg - I can only guess that you are an aviator in the AAC by the childish nature of your comment.

Lets face facts the introuduction of AH has been very poorly managed, now is the time too form a pool of experience from the other two services and get the 67 or so WAH64Ds in the air. Surely that is the only thing that matters!

You seem to be blaming the AAC for the Apache c**k ups, could I suggest you look at the colour of the Attack Helicopter IPT Leader's uniform....... (he's the one who has been making the key decisions about Apache for over a year).

I do not blame the AAC - However I do suspect that the arrogance of a few Ex AAC Officers have got in the way. This was always going to be a massive project something that Ex Skeeter/Scout/Auster/ Beaver drivers have no comprehension of. AHUFT was formed in 95/96, how many officers have held posts in this unit since its formation. Too many I suspect!

Iam not saying that AAC guys do not have good basic stick and rudder skills, on the contrary quite the opposite. What is drasticly lacking is team work the essence of all successful battles. this I most definatly point at staff level and not the boys on the front line/wallop- training.

Ask your selfs this question - Why are senior and respected AH 64 instructors leaving the Corps?

And why the Tax Payer is upfronting a £2.5 Bil for this aircraft if it is only going into storage when it is built? This sort of incompetence would not be tolerated in civil aviation without heads rolling big style. Why should the Military be allowed to get away with it!

I may tend to agree the initial philosophy of the Corps was a 'bit backward' but if you knew the situation away from the media blurb I think you might be a bit suprised. Current probs are not down to AAC 'retard' lack of awareness but down to civvy contractors not delivering. Good story though on this site. Bash the grunts with a stick as the greasy haired types will pick it up when the cabbages cock it up scenario. Always a good angle. We are ready. No more argument than that. Sim aint, spares aint (spares that were signed on by someone who did'nt wear CS95 as working dress I might add). Would the other two services take on a system without all the facilities available to ensure that the bit of kit could do the job 100%? Na. As for the 'mothballing of the kit'. Hasn't that happened with every system we've had in the recent past until we have a relevent capability? Oh, thats right, we put two or three Tornadoes into Op service as soon as they fell off the shop floor didn't we? Or did we wait until we gained the crews/Gcrew/service support/back up/et al until a viable Sqn/Sqns could be formed? Harrier/Jaguar/Puma...I could go on but there not Army bashing are they? I remember Lynx into service. Same thing happened then. Store until we can equip. You all sproggs or what?

RAF, much as I respect you, you will not get AH in any shape or form. Your 'shadow unit' would be better placed admining your MT drivers and ensuring they have a better working standard.

Your future is in the balance, not ours. On ops, not standard green stuff, who does AD? FAA, it WILL have boats. FGA, who do you work for? Green. SH, you don't work for the RAF do you, its the grunts that provide you with work. So that leaves you with ...transport. Mr Branson and his type can cover that little prob without the nause. All the other chadmin can be contracted out.

Wrong ....take your clothes off! It is invariably people at this level who are most inept at procurment (spelling?), normally through no fault of their own, and they allow thieving gypsy bast@@d! civvie contractors to sell them utter bags of sh{te:)

OK maybe I was a bit harsh and probably a bit childish as well, but this does wind me up. Maybe thats the idea!

Anybody with half a brain and the ability to look beyond a newspaper headline will surely know that this is not the fault of the AAC. In the same way that the Typhoon debacle is not the fault of the RAF.

The AAC is and has been ready to train and subsequently field the crews and airframes for quite a while. But if the training hardware/software is not ready what can they do. Would the RAF be able to run a Typhoon conversion without the simulator? Of course not.

Unless you believe that the AAC were/are responsible for the design, build, procurement etc. and the writing and signing of contracts, how can you possibly believe that they are now at fault?

Have they made mistakes? I would be amazed if they hadn't. Nobody will deny that the fielding of the AH is a quantum leap for the AAC, but I would expect them to get it right, or nearly right when they get the chance.

Now can we stop this "The RAF should have the AH" line. You didn't get it, you won't get it, get over it for God's sake.
