John Hemingway, The last of 'the few'

Thought this might be of interest to some around the parish.

From The Irish Times, 13th Sept 2023. Former Group Captain John Hemingway, DFC, AE, who is believed to be the sole surviving member of 'the few' recently visited his old secondary school, St Andrew’s College in Booterstown, Dublin.

The article includes some pictures and video.

Tip of the cap to him for living this long. Looks to be in better shape than my dad who is 94.

Additionally, Hawker Restorations are currently restoring to fly, the Hurricane that John Hemingway baled out of on 26th August 1940.

Certainly an exciting life, five crashes of which he parachuted out four times. I dip's me lid Sir.

He gets quite a few mentions on this facebook page, being one of Leconfield's commanders in the late 60's.
