Thanks, that’s the one. Over five hours and still going around and around about every six minutes.

Village called Weaverthorpe

Flight checker or calibrator.
Powered by diesel engines hence it burns AVTUR/Jet A1

Has got to be the worse flying job going. Well over five hours now on the same anti clockwise circuit.

And a 4-person cabin that makes a Fiat 500 look like a limo.

Dctyke - clearly you lot in Weaverthorpe are up to something! Will have to divert round next time I’m heading for The Triton

They're surveilling the deviants in Wetwang.

It's the RAF's new recruiting tool for detecting useless white male pilots......

Maybe he's just not noticed that the throttle has slipped back to idle on one of those engines

Isn't this the one Cobham used 'for exercise this is a UAV'?

Either something suspicious was happening at Dotterel farm or the FSB is spoofing the transponder.

VX275 31st May 2023 19:16

An Israeli company did make a UAV out of a DA42 so it wasn't all that daft a question from dctyke.

Apart from the village crop of 10 acres of prime marijuana nothing much happens on Andrews farm 😉

Probably Cobham's DA42 that is used for instrumentation checks on ILS systems. Any airfields near you?

I already suggested that at #5.

NutLoose 1st Jun 2023 14:08

Or they are doing surveillance or survey work

SLXOwft 1st Jun 2023 15:10

Couple of private grass strips Octon N/S & Eddsfield E/W a few miles SE and of course RRH Staxton Wold a few miles NE but no navaids I am aware of. Looking at ADSBExchange the circuits were about 1/2 mile across at approx 500ft, flew in and out of Teeside. It showed as G-FFMV which is registered to Draken Leasing and as I said above I understand it was previously used by Cobham as a stand in for a UAV threat - not an infrequent visitor to Donna Nook AWR and Cape Wrath TC.
