Sustainable Aviation Fuel?

Has anyone heard anything more about the carbon munching jet fuel which was brought to public attention last year?

I think you mean ‘brought to your attention last year’

Google Professor Tony Marmont - he's been doing the "making fuel out of fresh air" thing for quite some time.

There is a potentially greener e-fuel manufactured by the combination of green hydrogen with captured atmospheric carbon dioxide. This is a genuine low carbon solution but I wonder if a jet engine could be developed to run off the product, the second link hints at it. A pilot project run by Porsche and Siemens is running in Chile using renewable energy.

Not so much thin air as the Sabatier and Senderens Reaction which was discovered in 1902. See the story I have linked to above which uses the same reaction.

Arrghh, the ol' crusties are out in force!

Check your terminology - SAF relates to the use of existing feedstocks (domestic waste etc) to produce so-called drop-in fuels for aviation. e-fuels (or whatever - there are many terms in use) relate to technologies to convert atmospheric CO2 in hydrocarbons using renewable energy, a much longer term and way trickier prospect.

There's been loads of articles about the former in Flight in you're interested.
