1950s Germany
Dear Ppruners - another plea for help. I'm after information about life in RAF Germany during the 1950s: on and around base, aircraft or otherwise. I can't publish the project here, but drop me a message and I can explain more. We're focusing in on Celle, but any 1950s insight or experience would be equally useful.
And we're talking no detail too small: for instance, were the signs bilingual? What about the phone boxes? Did you have a vehicle on base, and what colour was it?Any information or leads greatly appreciated, bonus points for photos. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....67a71bd37b.jpg |

I don't know if you've uncovered it yet Charlotte, but Celle was where the Belsen Prison Camp Guards were held prior to going on trial.

If you are on FB, there are several groups dedicated to RAFG and various bases. The contributors span every era and any questions you have would certainly get a reply.
